The Moriarty Principle pt. 1
Upon hearing the term ‘the Moriarty Principle’, one might assume that the idea’s origin lies in the works of Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, but they would be wrong. The first inkling of it appears in the writings of Plato, who believed that humans were originally born with twice as many limbs and faces, and Zeus, fearing their power, split them in two. The popular interpretation of this concept is that it speaks of the idea of soul mates: that each living person has a missing piece to them found in another human being. Once again, most would be wrong.
No, the beings described by Plato were only an elite few paragons of humanity.
I am refusing to use the rebranded name because, I'm annoyed about the rebrand. I'm annoyed about your direction, your lack of focus in key areas and your lack of communication. I said I'd never be a bitter former staff member, but it seems that I am.
Last year you spent a lot of money on a rebrand, this year you've cut 50% of your work force, entire departments have been decimated and peoples lives have been thrown upside down without notice. But you never really communicated to anyone why. You still don't, you're not telling the community what's happening and that's only going to hurt you. People will see that helpdesk tickets take longer

I miss the rugged nights
Hours upon hours spent
Fighting the cold.
Those nights where
The aurora guided our hearts
And filled us with Adventure.
Those nights where
Our toes went numb
And even the campfire was frostbitten
Those nights
Of wanderlust and starlight
Murals in the sky.

Don't judge book by it's cover...? Anne Rice books
Here in Poland first edition of "Witching Hour" (polish title Godzina Czarownic) by Anne Rice was split to 4 volumes. First volume was printed in 1994 by publishing house Amber. In 2010 printing house "Rebis" took over and printed second edition that they managed to squeeze in 2 volumes.
I had 1st volume since that year when it was published here. 21 years later I am browsing various second-hand online book stores (antique books shops) and I am ordering first polish edition of volumes 2, 3 ans 4.
Why not just buy 2nd edition that I can easily buy in almost every book store? Why would I buy used books? Well... Because of beautiful book cove
I've always disliked the term "talented".
It implies that things come to you naturally and without any effort, while in reality the people that are considered extremely talented rarely get to the top without any practice. And the 'rarely' is an understatement. I've never seen anyone reach the top without effort. Not ever. I dislike how 'not having talent' is often used as an excuse for not being good at something, while in reality the only real reason that keeps people from accomplishing things is not working hard enough for it. And sure, not working hard enough can have its reasons. Very valid reasons like having different priority's in lif
It’s simply cynical to argue, every catastrophy has its good aspects. Well, at least I wasn’t able to find them here. But if there were any, I wished them to reveal their true nature earlier.
So it was with the minor and major desasters caused by dull moments, and then being fooled by villains ready for ripping off! Undoubtedly though a long journey changes your mind, you can’t escape your shadow. I probably met a whole legion of black kitties crossing my way on the Silk Roads a couple of years ago. And yet the bigger culture shock is that one after coming back home. — Let the tournament begin!
